Agreement to Terms. By downloading, installing, or using BudgetExplora, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and BudgetExplora.

By accessing or using BudgetExplora ("the App", "the Service"), you confirm that:
These Terms apply to all users, including registered account holders, trial users, and free-tier users.
BudgetExplora is a personal finance management application for iPhone that provides:
BudgetExplora is a manual budgeting tool. It does not connect to banks, financial institutions, or payment systems. All financial data entered in the app is provided by you manually.
Service Availability. We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, third-party service outages (Firebase, Anthropic), or unforeseen technical issues may cause temporary unavailability. We are not liable for any loss caused by service unavailability.
To access BudgetExplora's features, you must create an account using one of the following methods: Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, or email and password.
Each individual may maintain one BudgetExplora account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits, trial limitations, or subscription requirements is prohibited and may result in account termination.
BudgetExplora offers premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions managed by Apple's App Store. All payments are processed by Apple — we do not receive or store your payment information.
Prices may vary by region. The price displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase is the binding price.
Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, your subscription will automatically renew at the then-current price. You will be charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → BudgetExplora. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will not receive a refund for any unused portion of a subscription period.
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. If we change prices, we will provide advance notice and you will be asked to confirm acceptance of the new price before your next billing period.
All refund requests must be directed to Apple, as they process all payments. Apple's refund policy applies. We do not issue refunds directly. To request a refund: open the App Store → Account → Purchase History → Report a Problem.

You agree to use BudgetExplora only for lawful, personal financial management purposes. You must NOT:
We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice or refund.
BudgetExplora and all its content, features, and functionality — including but not limited to the app's design, code, text, graphics, logos, icons, the "Savings Jar" concept, "Explora" AI system, "Summit of Legends" system, "Financial Power Score" system, and the BudgetExplora name and branding — are owned by BudgetExplora and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use BudgetExplora for personal, non-commercial use only. This license does not include the right to:
Content you enter in BudgetExplora — including transaction notes, category names, budget names, goal descriptions, and account names — is your data and remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your personal financial data.
By using BudgetExplora, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and sync your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We will not use your personal financial data for any purpose beyond providing the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
BudgetExplora is not a financial advisor. The app, including the Explora AI engine, provides informational tools and analysis only. Nothing in BudgetExplora — including any insight, projection, suggestion, or analysis generated by Explora AI — constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or any other professional advice regulated by financial authorities.
You acknowledge that:
BudgetExplora does not connect to banks, financial institutions, or payment processors. Account balances shown in the app reflect only the data you have manually entered and are not real-time figures from your actual financial accounts.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BudgetExplora, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BudgetExplora and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
By you: You may stop using BudgetExplora and delete your account at any time through the app settings. See Section 12 of the Privacy Policy for data deletion details.
By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if:
Upon termination, your license to use BudgetExplora ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and intellectual property — will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which BudgetExplora is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
For users in the European Union: Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable EU law, including the right to bring claims before courts in your country of residence.
For users in the United States: Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of BudgetExplora shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by JAMS, except that either party may bring an individual action in small claims court.
We encourage you to contact us at support@budgetexplora.shop before initiating any formal dispute. We are committed to resolving issues fairly and directly.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by:
Continued use of BudgetExplora after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the app.

Apple's Role: This EULA is an agreement between you and BudgetExplora only — not Apple. Apple is not responsible for BudgetExplora or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for BudgetExplora.
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you ("End User" or "you") and BudgetExplora ("Licensor") for the use of BudgetExplora software application ("the Application") on Apple iOS devices.
By downloading, installing, or using the Application from the Apple App Store, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA.
BudgetExplora grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the Application on any Apple-brand devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to the terms of this EULA and Apple's App Store Terms of Service.

The Application is licensed to you, not sold. This license applies to the Application as licensed on Apple-brand products and any other software and content provided with the Application. The Application is available for use on all Apple devices associated with your Apple ID, subject to Family Sharing rules.
The Application contains auto-renewing subscription features. Subscription terms, pricing, and trial details are described in our Terms of Service (Section 4). All in-app purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's payment terms.
BudgetExplora is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the Application, to the extent required under applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the Application.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. BudgetExplora EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
BudgetExplora does not warrant that: (i) the Application will meet your requirements; (ii) the Application will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (iii) the results obtained from use of the Application will be accurate or reliable; or (iv) any errors in the Application will be corrected.
BudgetExplora, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Application or your possession and/or use of the Application, including but not limited to:
In the event of any third-party claim that the Application or your possession and use of the Application infringes a third party's intellectual property rights, BudgetExplora will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim, to the extent required by this EULA.
You represent and warrant that: (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
The Application may offer features allowing you to tag transaction locations manually or search for nearby merchant names. Use of these features is absolutely optional. BudgetExplora does not track your location in the background or continuously monitor your GPS. If you choose to grant device location permissions to the Application, such data is accessed and processed strictly in accordance with our Privacy Policy to facilitate optional transaction enrichment, and you may revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the Application. For example, if you use the Application in connection with your wireless data service agreement, you must not violate that agreement. The Application uses the following third-party services, each subject to their own terms:
You acknowledge and agree that Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA. Upon your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this EULA, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this EULA against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

These Subscription Terms supplement the Terms of Service and govern all paid subscription features of BudgetExplora.

All three plans provide identical access to premium features under the pro_access
entitlement. There is no feature difference between Weekly, Annual, and Monthly plans. The
difference is billing frequency and price only.
We may occasionally offer introductory pricing or promotional rates to specific user segments (e.g., returning subscribers). These offers are subject to eligibility verification via Apple's StoreKit. Promotional pricing applies only to the promotional period specified; standard pricing resumes after that period.
If a subscription renewal payment fails (e.g., due to an expired card), we apply the following grace periods during which premium access is maintained:
During the grace period, you will receive a notification to update your payment method in iOS Settings. If payment is not resolved within the grace period, your subscription downgrades to the free tier.
BudgetExplora does not offer direct refunds. All refund requests must be submitted to Apple:
Apple's refund policies apply. We support Apple's refund decisions and will honor any refund Apple grants.
Cancelling your subscription does not delete your account. Your data is retained on your device and in the cloud. You continue to have free-tier access. To delete all data, you must separately delete your account through app settings.
Similarly, deleting your BudgetExplora account does NOT automatically cancel your App Store subscription. You must cancel the subscription separately in iOS Settings to stop future charges.
BudgetExplora's AI feature, "Explora," is powered by Claude 3.5 Sonnet — a large language model developed by Anthropic PBC. This policy explains how Explora works, what you can expect from it, and its limitations.
Explora is a read-only AI financial analyst. When you ask Explora a question about your finances:
Explora is read-only — it analyzes and advises but cannot execute transactions, modify budgets, or make changes to your data.
Important: AI-generated responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated reasoning. Explora's confidence level (indicated as HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW based on data history available) gives guidance on reliability, but does not guarantee accuracy. Always verify important financial information independently before acting on Explora's insights.
When you use Explora, the following data is sent to Anthropic's API:
The following data is NEVER sent to Anthropic: your name, email address, authentication tokens, data from other workspaces, or device identifiers.
Data sent to Anthropic's API is subject to Anthropic's API usage policies. Per Anthropic's documentation, API inputs are not used to train their models by default. Full policy: anthropic.com/privacy.

Explora is a premium feature. You can opt out of using it simply by not using it — no data is sent to Anthropic unless you actively use the Explora AI feature. Cancelling your subscription or using the free tier also removes access to Explora.
Explora requires an active internet connection and an active premium subscription. It may be temporarily unavailable due to Anthropic API outages or maintenance. We are not liable for service interruptions to the AI feature.
